The Green Task Force is a subsidiary of the PATT Foundation, a UK Charity and was established to solve a number of prominent issues surround both the environment and our Veterans.
Training and Experience in the Land and Forestry Sector
With our work within the sector and woodland creation we able to create positive pathways to employment for veterans and service leavers. We are able to provide training opportunities and experience in forestry, allowing veterans to learn skills to thrive in the land and forestry sector including becoming fully qualified tree surgeons or arborists.
I’ve been out the army 18 years now and had many jobs in that time and not been able to settle. Since I joined Green Task Force over a year ago a lot has changed for me. This job had given me the job satisfaction and stability that I’ve been looking for.
We all support each other. I’d say this job had not only set me in good stead for the future with qualifications but also with my mental health…. I’d highly recommended it to any ex service men or women who are lost and don’t really have a direction after they leave

Supporting Veterans and Caring for our Environment
Supporting veterans and those in the Armed Forces community is incredibly important to the PATT Foundation and Green Task Force, and is at the core of our work. In 2022/2023, 1 in 8 UK Armed Forces personnel were seen in military healthcare for mental health-related reasons showing the important of supporting our Armed Forces personnel and veterans. We are able to offer nature-based and wilderness based therapy to our teams to help support them through nature-based tasks and wilderness therapy that compliments what they are training in, with the added benefit of being outdoors.
